Yes. The API only works with WhatsApp Business. With regular WhatsApp the QR links fine and everything seems to work, but WhatsApp detects automated use on a personal account and blocks the number within minutes or hours: the phone shows «This account can't use WhatsApp». That block is applied by WhatsApp on its own servers against your account — it's not an API failure and it's not something we can reverse on our side, and a number that's already blocked won't come back by scanning the QR again.
No, it's free. WhatsApp Business is an official WhatsApp app: you download it from Google Play or the App Store and register it with the same number you already use. No license, no monthly fee, no paperwork with Meta. If that number is on regular WhatsApp today, the app itself offers to migrate it and keeps your chats; just keep in mind that the same number can't run in both apps on the same phone.
Don't confuse it with the WhatsApp Business Cloud API, which is Meta's official service and does charge per conversation. They're different things: to use our API, all you need is the free WhatsApp Business app on your phone.
Yes, at no extra cost, as long as that number runs WhatsApp Business. You scan a QR code (like WhatsApp Web) and it gets linked to your API session. You can keep using WhatsApp Business on your phone at the same time.
Not on our side: the plan includes unlimited messages under a fair use policy. That said, WhatsApp can limit, suspend or permanently block your number if it detects excessive use, automated bulk sending or unsolicited messages (spam). Exdoo is not responsible for blocks imposed by WhatsApp. For high, sustained volume we recommend also getting the WhatsApp Business Cloud API.
