In Mexico every invoice is a CFDI (Comprobante Fiscal Digital por Internet): an XML file with the structure defined by the SAT, currently version 4.0. You generate it with your system and seal it with your digital seal certificate (CSD); then a PAC (authorized certification provider) validates it, adds the digital tax stamp with its tax folio (UUID) and reports it to the SAT. That is stamping.
Without the stamp, the invoice has no tax validity. That is why every invoicing system sells stamps: you pay one per document, whether an invoice, a credit note or a payment complement.
If you are paid in full when invoicing, the invoice is PUE. If you are paid later or in installments, it is PPD and you must issue a payment complement for every payment you receive. Discounts, returns and rebates are documented with a credit note related to the original invoice. All three Exdoo options handle them.
